Nonwoven of Tapyrus is manufactured under meltblown method. As it is made of very fine fibers, it has excellent texture, softness and drapability.
01 Smooth and soft texture
The outstanding feature of Tapyrus products is the thinness of fiber diameter.
Mean fiber diameter is very fine, ranging from less than 1μm to a few dozen μm. Fiber diameter is controllable in a wide range.
As we have operational capability in controlling fiber diameter, it is possible for us to realize the superior filtering performance. Hence, it is applied to a variety of industrial segments such as sanitary, medical, food, consumer goods, electric/electronic and automotive, as the filter or separator media.
This is because our proprietary meltblown process leads to uniform and isotropic distribution of fine fibers, resulting in uniform pore distribution of a few to hundred μm.
Such structural control of pore and density gives soft texture and good drapability.
02 Ensures safety by no elution of hazardous material from adhesive.
Tapyrus products belong to a category of non-binding nonwoven. Non-binding nonwoven implies self-bonding fiber web without any adhesive. Hence, there is no elution of hazardous material from such chemicals.

Any thermoplastic resin can be used to make nonwoven. The followings are the raw material resin which we have commercially use for Tapyrus products.
Polypropylene, Polyester, Polyamide, Poly Methyl Pentene, Poly Phenylene Sulfide, Poly Lactic Acid and other thermoplastic resin
Information of Tapyrus products04 Our processing technology enables us to make composite products with other sorts of nonwoven or membrane films.
Thickness and pore size of nonwoven can be manipulated by the calender processing which provides heat and pressure onto nonwoven. Thickness, gloss, strength and density can be controlled by this processing.
Our processing technology such as heat emboss, ultrasonic emboss and hot melt adhesion, enables us to make composite products with other sorts of nonwoven or membrane films.
As Tapyrus products consist of very fine fiber, it fits well with the requirement of filtering functionality. It is thus used as filtering media like as liquid filter, surgical mask, and separator of non-rechargeable Li battery.
As composite product with other materials, it is applied to disposable goods of medical use, industrial air filter, and a specialty product in nuclear power industry. Composite products family are also applied to a variety fields from daily use to industrial specialties.
