What is nonwoven?

Nonwoven is broadly defined as sheet or web structures bonded together by entangling fibers or filaments mechanically, thermally, or chemically. It is not made by weaving or knitting and do not require converting the fibers to yarn.

All sorts of fibers which consist of natural fibers such as cotton, hemp and wool, chemical fibers, recycled fibers, and pulp for paper material, are employed as the raw material of nonwoven.

While the nonwoven is used in a variety of scenes of daily life, it is difficult for us to specify them as it is hidden as parts or the base material of the product.

For example, it is widely used for shoulder pads, interlinings and tapes of the clothes. Other major applications are sanitary or medical goods such as diaper, mask and gauze. Nonwoven fabrics is also adopted in the field of industrial materials which includes soil stabilizer, polishing agent, electric insulation, battery separator, interior material of automotive, and air conditioning filters. You may find nonwoven is used everywhere in your life.
